Instructions

  1. Place all filling ingredients in a small pot and stir over low heat until everything is melted and combined, and place in fridge to cool completely.

  2. Once cooled, whip the mixture to add volume.

  3. Split your dough in half to make two babkas. Roll each piece into a large rectangle, and fill with a generous amount of the filling and some chocolate chips.

  4. Roll each piece into a log and place in the fridge until cooled completely.

  5. Take the logs out of the fridge, and cut each of them lengthwise to expose the rolls inside. Then braid it and place in a lined English cake pan before letting it rise for one hour, preheating the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit

  6. Brush the babkas with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar, then place them in the oven for 25 minutes before brushing with simple syrup made from equal amounts water and sugar. Then place back in the oven for 10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 190-200 degrees Fahrenheit
